Bluejuice joined Parker + French in 2008 and have not stopped touring their idea of a house party since. Well, they have - they retired with their last run of shows for Falls Festival 2014/2015. Fronted by the unique lead duo of Jake Stone and Stav Yiannoukas, the band mash feel good piano pop, dirty R n B, big room electro, raucous rock, along with their biting humour, to create a sound that is a live favourite in Australia.
The band have had wide success with their last album “Head of the Hawk” being nominated for 2 Aria Awards in 2009 for Best Breakthrough Artist (Single) for “Broken Leg” and Best Video for ‘Broken Leg”, which also picked up awards for Itunes, Rage and Myspace “video of the year”.
The album “Company” was produced by the band in Sydney with Eric J Dubowsky and mixed in London by mixmaster Adrian Bushby (New order, FooFighters etc). The albums release has been a high for the bands in terms of critical acclaim, from a ‘feature record’ nod on Triple J to Bernard Zuel at the SMH saying in his 4 star review “This is a record that gleefully and voraciously embraces genres usually confined to 40th birthday parties and New Year’s Eve fireworks. Is this a good thing? Strangely but emphatically, yes!”
The lead single ‘Act Yr Age’ hit the Top 20 for the Triple J Hot 100 List in 2012 and has been nominated for the APRA 2012 “Song of the Year”.
Their farewell track "I'll Go Crazy" claimed the number 25 spot in Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2014.
