Jagwar Ma is a musical project, est. Nov 2011 by Jono Ma and Gabriel Winterfield.
It started with ‘Come and Save Me’ a conglomeration of 50s and 60s sounds with the sensibilities and attitude of the early 90s Mancunian scene. All this gathered in a forward thinking portion of musical alchemy make the listening experience transcend into deeper ares of the cerebral cortex.
After triple j championed the bands debut single last year, they scored a nod from NME on their 2013 “most likely to be massive” poll. Then Zane Lowe premiered new single ‘The Throw’ on BBC Radio I as the ‘hottest record in the world”. Pitchfork rated it with their prestigious Best New Music and said “the song’s the purest piece of Madchesterrevivalism to come around in some time”. NME said ‘The Throw’ was Jagwar Ma’s “grand statement to the world”.
P+F are co-managing this project with the UK management team behind Hot Chip and the Chemical Brothers.
